New Paper Published, in JMBE!
I am especially proud of this paper because it's first two authors are Cornell undergraduate students that I have mentored. Here, we present the ORBE-- a resource collection for biology instructors, that features open educational resources that are useful in undergraduate biology education. We compiled survey data asking instructors about what resources they use, and summarized 89 unique biology education resources in a shareable format.

New Paper Published, in Ecosphere!
In this paper we explored journal reflections from students, taken after participating in field labs, to identify the different challenges students face in field biology courses. We classified challenged into three broad categories:
- Scientific (e.g., difficulty identifying organisms)
- Logistic (e.g., issues with field gear)
- Conditions (e.g., inclement weather)

New Paper Published, in BioScience!
Check out our team-based scoping review of literature that explores student outcomes of field courses. In this study, we identified existing literature on the outcomes of field courses and summarized how they have been shown to influence:
- what students learn
- how field courses make students feel
- student behavior
- field and research skills

New Paper Published, in Ecology & Evolution!
Check out our new paper where we explored the affective outcomes of students in an introductory field biology course, using a dataset of personal reflections. PhD candidate David Esparza and I are co-first authors of this work, along with our fabulous research team: undergraduate researcher Jeannie Yamazaki ('20), Dr. Marc Goebel and Dr. Michelle Smith.
